Not A Model Weekly Mantra

By the end of the week, I'm usually drowning in information.

I constantly collect and send myself links to blogs, news articles and interesting photographs. I take home chunks of the New York Times to read at my leisure and jot down notes and quotes of other pieces throughout the day. I find that although I collect the information, sometimes there isn't enough time in a week to share it, or to delve into it.

I recently read an inspiring and revealing interview with fashion designer Tom Ford. Before reading, I assumed Ford, (a really handsome, classy, glamourous man) would be the epitome of high society socializing, and celebrity living. However, the interview reflected the opposite. Ford talks about life, love and simple living in a way that is refreshing. Below is one of my favourite quotes from the interview. The quote highlights the superficiality that we all can get caught up with, but reminds us that the most important thing we have in life is our relationships, friendships; people.

"When I am on my deathbed, I don’t think I will be thinking about a nice pair of shoes I had or my beautiful house. I am going to be thinking about an evening I spent with somebody when I was twenty where I felt that I was just absolutely connected to them." - Tom Ford

I encourage you to read the full article by "The Talks" here:

Also, for some additional reading, I was featured as's "Blogger of the Week." Check out my interview here.

Happy Reading!
